The Texas Minority Counsel Program is a continuing legal education program and networking event that brings minority and women lawyers together with corporate legal departments and governmental agencies to discuss outside counsel opportunities.

The Real Property Section of the Dallas Bar Association is a forum for real estate lawyers who practice in such areas as real estate lending, development, acquisition, disposition, leasing and other types of real estate related practice areas. The Real Property Section meets monthly and provides continuing legal education presentations on topics of current interest. The Section also makes charitable contributions to local charitable organizations.

Barry Johnson spoke at the State Bar of Texas annual "Collections and Creditor’s Rights" course in San Antonio Texas, May 9, 2008. Barry spoke on the topic of Recent Developments in Texas Foreclosure law and covered recent amendments to the Texas Property Code as well as recent court decisions affecting Texas Foreclosure law. Barry discussed the role of loss mitigation in the foreclosure process as well as certain pending Federal Legislation which could affect the loss mitigation and foreclosure time line. This seminar was attended by attorneys from throughout the State of Texas as part of the State Bar’s continuing education series.

J. Allen Smith makes presentation to the Outdoor Advertising Association of America Legal Seminar in San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 4, 2008. The presentation was entitled "The Federal Court's Vanishing Jurisdiction in Fifth Amendment Takings Litigation" and addressed the United States Supreme Court case of San Remo Hotel, L. P. v City and County of San Francisco and related case law including recent applications before the Supreme Court in connection therewith. The seminar included attorneys across the United States addressing law on a national scope concerning the industry.
